Overview
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct local risk in the resources and infrastructure industries.
It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take some responsibility for the quality of own work outcomes.

Course Requirements
Pre-requisites:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, understand and write in basic English
- Must have or obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
What to bring:
- 100 points of Identification – Originals, not copies.
- Enclosed footwear.
- Safety Gloves
- A hat, water bottle and sunscreen.
- Hi-vis shirts are recommended but not mandatory – we have hi-vis vests you can use on site.
Course Outline
Each course is structured to deliver essential skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience, including:
- Module 1: Plan and prepare for risk control
- Module 2: Assess and identify unacceptable risk
- Module 3: Identify, assess and implement risk treatments
- Module 4: Complete records and reports
What You’ll Achieve
Upon completing this course, you will:
- You will receive a RIIRIS201E – Conduct local risk control once you have been deemed competent, issued by Halo Nation Training (RTO No. 32485).
