Overview
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to communicate in the workplace in the resources and infrastructure industries and other industries with relevant work practices and procedures. It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take some responsibility for the quality of own work outcomes.
Course Requirements
Pre-requisites:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, understand and write in basic English
- Must have or obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
What to bring:
- 100 points of Identification – Originals, not copies.
- Enclosed footwear.
- Safety Gloves
- A hat, water bottle and sunscreen.
- Hi-vis shirts are recommended but not mandatory – we have hi-vis vests you can use on site.

- Module 1: Plan and prepare for risk control
- Module 2: Assess and identify unacceptable risk
- Module 3: Identify, assess and implement risk treatments
- Module 4: Complete records and reports
RIIERR205D – Apply initial response First Aid
- Module 1: Plan and prepare for initial response First Aid
- Module 2: Assess the situation
- Module 3: Apply First Aid
- Module 4: Record and report incident
RIIERR302E – Respond to local emergencies and incidents
- Module 1: Prepare to respond to local emergency or incident
- Module 2: Respond to local emergency or incident
- Module 3: Support formal relief and debrief
RIIGOV201E – Comply with site work processes/procedures
- Module 1: Plan and prepare for work outcomes
- Module 2: Apply work procedures to individual work activities
RIIWHS201E – Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
- Module 1: Access and apply site safety procedures
- Module 2: Apply personal safety measures
- Module 3: Apply operational safety measures
- Module 4: Maintain personal wellbeing
- Module 5: Identify and report incidents
RIIRIS201E – Conduct local risk control
- Module 1: Plan and prepare for risk control
- Module 2: Assess and identify unacceptable risk

What You’ll Achieve
