Overview
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant. Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

Course Requirements
Pre-requisites:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, understand and write in basic English
- Must have or obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
What to bring:
- 100 points of Identification – Originals, not copies.
- Enclosed footwear.
- Safety Gloves
- A hat, water bottle and sunscreen.
- Hi-vis shirts are recommended but not mandatory – we have hi-vis vests you can use on site.
Course Outline
Each course is structured to deliver essential skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience, including:
- Module 1: Plan for the work/task
- Module 2: Prepare for the work/task
- Module 3: Perform work/task
- Module 4: Pack up
What You’ll Achieve
Upon completing this course, you will:
- You will receive a TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type EWP over 11m once you have been deemed competent, issued by Halo Nation Training (RTO No. 32485).
