Overview
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to load and unload plant.
This unit applies to those working in site-based roles.
Prior to performing this activity, skills and knowledge should be developed for the individual plant. This can be achieved through completing the equivalent operator unit or being assisted by someone who has this knowledge. Refer to the Implementation Guide for further details.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit.

Course Requirements
Pre-requisites:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, understand and write in basic English
- Must have or obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
What to bring:
- 100 points of Identification – Originals, not copies.
- Enclosed footwear.
- Safety Gloves
- A hat, water bottle and sunscreen.
- Hi-vis shirts are recommended but not mandatory – we have hi-vis vests you can use on site.
Course Outline
Each course is structured to deliver essential skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience, including:
- Module 1: Prepare to load and unload plant
- Module 2: Load the plant in line with established requirements
- Module 3: Unload the plant in line with established requirements
What You’ll Achieve
Upon completing this course, you will:
- You will receive a RIIHAN308F – Load and unload plant once you have been deemed competent, issued by PM SQUARED (RTO No. 41304).
